Expecting your little one soon? These tips can help you to be prepared.

Your little bundle of Joy is just around the corner, and you may need to visit the hospital anytime for delivery. Is this the situation you are facing?
This situation comes in the life of every woman who has conceived. In order to tackle this situation well, you need to plan in advance.

We are listing some essentials which you can keep in your mind while preparing for the welcome.

  1. Night gowns with front opening - this kind of gowns will help in feeding the new born
  2. Comfortable slippers - when you are delivering, you might need to visit the washroom multiple times, so they should have good grip also.
  3. Nursing bra - specially designed bra to help in feeding.
  4. Extra pair of cotton underpants, in case you have blood stains, which will help you keep fresh
  5. Sanitary pads - it is not advisable to use tampons upto 6 weeks post delivery
  6. Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, brush, rubber bands, shampoo and conditioner pouches, your personal cosmetics
  7. Towels - while hospitals do provide these, it is good to have an extra fresh pair handy.
  8.  Spectacles - if you use them. Contact lenses are removed during surgery.
  9. Books and magazines - to help you wait for the little one.
  10. Camera or a charged smartphone - for the first set of photographs.
  11.  Music of your choice - soothing music helps!!
  12. Your favorite fruit juice - you should be hydrated well when having labor pains
  13. Hot water bottle - good to have Tulsi (Holy Basil) leaves in the water which helps in labor pains.
  14.  Pad and pencil - good for writing down any questions you have in your mind - for the doctors when they visit. You tend to forget the questions and the doctors are really busy attending to multiple patients.
  15.  Phone numbers of your family and friends to call after delivery. You have to spread the good news, isn't it!!
  16.  Your pre-natal/antenatal records and reports. If you have visiting the hospital from the beginning, the hospital will most probably have those, but it is good to have them handy.
  17.  Two sets of cotton dresses for the baby - the baby needs to be in comfortable clothing once he has been cleaned up.
  18. Baby blanket and baby towel - again comfortable and for baby hygiene
  19. Baby cap, mittens, socks - the hospitals have air conditioning, and the baby should be kept warm
  20. Insurance related papers - if your delivery is covered by insurance, you need to have the insurance card and related paperwork with you. This will be required by the hospital before checkout.
