Yummy eggs - Poached and Ready to Eat!




All over the world egg is eaten as a staple food. Egg is a storehouse of all the vital nutrients. It is rich source of protein – important building blocks of bones. The human body uses protein to build and repair the body tissues and also help in making enzyme, hormones and other body chemicals. There are various ways to cook egg. Poaching is one of them.

  • Poaching is indirect, moist heat cooking method
  • It is one of the healthiest method to cook an egg
  • It is low in calorie, rich in antioxidant compounds and choline, a nutrient required for healthy brain functioning.
  • It also enhances the flavour, texture and nutritional value of a variety of dish.
Preparation of poached egg
To poach  an egg , let water simmer in a pan. Crack the egg in a bowl and then gently slid it into the pan. Cook the egg until the egg white solidify but make sure the egg yolk remains soft. The perfect poached egg has a runny yolk , with a hard crust.
